Divine intervention.

Persona 3 Reload is far more than just Persona 3 with shinier graphics. It introduces whole new mechanics to the mix. One of these is a battle mechanic called Theurgy attacks, which can turn the tide of any battle. These powerful abilities allow SEES members to unleash ultimate attacks on their enemies. In this guide, we explore how to unlock and charge Persona 3 Reload Theurgy attacks.

Unlocking Theurgy Attacks in Persona 3 Reload

You can unlock Theurgy attacks in Persona 3 Reload on June 13th, the same day you obtain the new SEES outfits exclusive to the remake. As you progress through the main story events and side activities with SEES, you’ll unlock new Theurgy attacks and Personality traits.

Once unlocked, you will find the Theurgy attack gauge next to each character’s face and health in the battle UI. The color of the gauge indicates its charge level. When the gauge is full, you can press R2/RT on your controller to access the Theurgy menu and unleash the powerful attacks.

Charging Theurgy Attacks in Persona 3 Reload

Each character in Persona 3 Reload charges their Theurgy attack in a unique way, based on their personality traits. Here’s how each character charges their Theurgy gauge:

Protagonist

The Protagonist’s Theurgy attacks are called Fusion Spells, and they are based on the Fusion Spell selected. To charge the Protagonist’s Theurgy gauge, simply use Persona skills.

Yukari Takeba

  1. Yukari’s first Theurgy attack is Cyclone Arrow. It deals severe Wind damage to one foe, ignoring resistances. To charge her Theurgy gauge, use Healing Skills.
  2. Yukari’s second Theurgy attack is called Tranquility. It grants a party-wide buff that increases the damage of the next magic attack used by any party member.

Junpei Iori

  1. Junpei’s first Theurgy attack is Hack n’ Blast. It deals a series of hits with high damage variance. To charge his Theurgy gauge, land Critical hits.
  2. Junpei’s second Theurgy attack is called Blaze of Life. It deals massive Fire damage to an enemy while ignoring their resistances. It also fully heals Junpei.

Mitsuru Kirijo

  1. Mitsuru’s first Theurgy attack is Blizzard Edge. This attack deals severe Ice damage to one foe, ignoring resistances. To charge her Theurgy gauge, inflict or receive a Debuff Skill.
  2. Mitsuru’s second Theurgy attack, Blade of Execution, deals massive Almighty damage to an enemy while decreasing their stats.

Akihiko Sanada

  1. Akihiko’s Theurgy attack is Lightning Spike. It deals heavy Electric damage to all foes, ignoring resistances. To charge his Theurgy gauge, use a Support Skill on himself.
  2. Akihiko’s second Theurgy attack is Electric Onslaught. It deals severe Electric damage to one foe, ignoring resistances. It has a high chance of inflicting Shock.

Fuuka Yamagishi (Navi)

  1. Fuuka’s Theurgy attack is Oracle. It provides random positive effects on all allies. Fuuka’s Theurgy gauge charges randomly during battles.
  2. Fuuka’s second Theurgy attack, Revelation, grants a random enhanced positive effect on all allies.

Aigis

  1. Aigis’s Theurgy attack is Orgia Mode. It deals heavy Pierce damage to all foes, ignoring resistances. During Orgia Mode, Aigis ignores orders and uses random attacks. To charge her Theurgy gauge, use Physical Skills.
  2. Aigis’s second Theurgy attack is Maximum Firepower. It deals severe Pierce damage to one foe, ignoring resistances.

Koromaru

  1. Koromaru’s Theurgy attack is Hound of Hades. This attack deals severe Dark damage to one foe, ignoring resistances. Koromaru’s Theurgy gauge charges each turn, but faster when his SP is less than half.
  2. Koromaru’s second Theurgy attack is Power Howling. It grants a party-wide buff that increases the damage of the next physical attack used by any party member.

Ken Amada

  1. Ken’s Theurgy attack is Divine Retribution. It deals severe Light damage to one foe, ignoring resistances. Ken’s Theurgy gauge charges each turn, but faster when his SP is less than half.
  2. Ken’s second Theurgy attack is called Divine Intervention. It revives the party by fully restoring all allies’ HP and grants a party-wide 1-time reflect shield against any type of attack.

Shinjiro Aragaki

Shinjiro’s Theurgy attack is Bleeding Fury. It deals severe Strike damage to one foe, ignoring resistances. Shinjiro’s Theurgy gauge charges each turn, but faster when his SP is less than half.

All hits to an enemy’s weaknesses also charge the Theurgy attack gauge. Once the gauge turns from green to orange, the last attack needed for a full gauge must meet one of the aforementioned character-specific criteria.

Theurgy Fusion Spells

In Persona 3 Reload, the main character has access to Fusion Spells, which are their version of Theurgy attacks. These powerful attacks are unlocked using the Velvet Room’s Special Fusions. Here are all the Fusion Spell combinations for the main character:

  • Orpheus & Apsaras: Cadenza – Restores 50% HP and increases Accuracy/Evasion for all allies.
  • Jack-o’-Lantern & Jack Frost: Jack Brothers – Deals medium Almighty damage to all foes. High chance of inflicting Down.
  • Black Frost & King Frost: King and I – Heavy Ice damage to all foes, ignoring resistances. Medium chance of Freeze.
  • Decarabia & Forneus: Best Friends – Your next physical/magic attack will deal more than double damage for one ally.
  • Siegfried & Mithras: Scarlet Havoc – Deals severe Slash damage to all foes, ignoring resistances.
  • Susano-o & Loki: Trickster – Deals massive Almighty damage to all enemies with a chance to inflict a status ailment.
  • Helel & Satan: Armageddon – Deals ultimate Almighty damage to all enemies in exchange for reducing your HP and SP to 1.

It’s worth noting that some Personas needed to unlock Fusion Spells require maxing out certain Social Links. For example, Susano-o and Helel require maxed Fool and Star Social Links, respectively.
