All Map Regions

There are two main regions in Dragon’s Dogma 2, each ruled by rival kingdoms. Vermund is notable for its line of sovereigns, known as the Sovran, who ascend to the throne through a remarkable feat – slaying a Dragon. These rulers are not ordinary individuals; they are Arisen, chosen ones destined to confront and defeat these fearsome beasts. Upon the demise of a Dragon at the hands of an Arisen, this individual is crowned the new ruler of Vermund, perpetuating a cycle of leadership that has defined the kingdom for generations. While this tradition of dragon-slaying monarchs presents an image of order and continuity, the lore of Dragon’s Dogma hints at underlying complexities and challenges that accompany this cycle, suggesting that the reality of Vermund’s rulership is far more intricate than it initially appears.

On the other hand, Battahl introduces players to a novel and intriguing facet of the Dragon’s Dogma universe with its establishment by the Beastren, a new race making its debut in the sequel. These humanoid creatures boast an array of beast-like attributes, including manes and feline-esque facial features, with their appearances largely inspired by majestic animals such as lions and leopards. The Beastren race is characterized by their formidable prowess in combat, hinting at their potential to be both fearsome allies and daunting adversaries within the game. Central to the narrative surrounding Battahl is the figure of Nadinia, the empress of the Beastren, around whom conflict seems to unfold. This element of the story promises to immerse players in the complex dynamics and challenges facing this powerful and enigmatic race.

How Big Dragon’s Dogma 2 Map Is

While we haven’t quite had a chance to measure the map manually, we do have a rough idea of how large it is. In an interview, Hideaki Itsuno, the Director of Dragon’s Dogma 2, revealed that the sequel’s map size is roughly four times that of its predecessor. Estimating the size of the original Dragon’s Dogma map is challenging due to its unique level design. Online estimates suggest the map is about 50%-60% the size of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which spans just over 14 square miles. Based on these estimates, Dragon’s Dogma 2’s map could range between 72 to 85 square kilometers.
